My Entrepreneurship Story

Growing up, I always heard my dad coming up with new ideas and methods to accomplish whatever goal he had. Sure enough, this led him to starting his own hurricane shutter business with the help of my uncle. Of course, starting a business from the ground up can de excruciating and time-consuming, especially during the worst economic years we had as a nation but with a background in accounting, it obviously helped. Over the next couple of years, the business picked up and they were profiting more than they originally predicted. These last few years, the business has plateaued (we've been lacking on hurricanes lately) and my dad is the sole owner of the business. Although his workload has doubled, he's at peace being his own boss and being in control of all the plans the business deals with.

Entrepreneurship is a unique field and can offer plenty of experience that is hard to find anywhere else. One of the fields I can get into with my major involves entrepreneurship, therefore learning the principles and applying them to everyday situations will grow my knowledge for the future endeavors I have.
